For weapons that use the mechanic, it is depleted as the item is used, similarly to [[ammunition]]. Like ammunition, charge is required to fire a weapon but does not require an extra inventory slot to use directly. After 25% of charge is lost on a weapon, it begins losing up to a maximum of 25% of its base damage which is determined by the following linear equation:
Damage = 0.25 * Current Charge / Max Charge + 0.75

The amount of damage on a weapon is dependent on its charge under the equation:
Total Damage = Base Damage * 1.087 - 0.08 / (Current Charge / Max Charge + 0.07)

While the amount of charge is displayed on the tooltip as a percentage, charge is actually an integer unit that varies from 0 to 250, depending on the tier and usage of the weapon. While an item is used, there is a
1/(120 * Use time)
(denominator rounded down) chance that charge is reduced by 1 unit. The amount of charge lost is calculated ''after'' item use, meaning the damage penalty will only apply for the next attack.

Charge is a mechanic implemented by most of the weapons crafted with Dubious Plating and Mysterious Circuitry. For weapons that use the mechanic, it is required for the weapon to be used and depleted as the item is used, similarly to ammunition. Unlike ammunition, it does not directly require an extra inventory slot to use. The amount of damage on a weapon is dependent on its charge under the equation: Total Damage = Base Damage * 1.087 - 0.08 / (Current Charge / Max Charge + 0.07)

While the amount of charge is displayed on the tooltip as a percentage, charge is actually a number that varies from 0 to 250, depending on the tier and usage of the weapon. The amount of charge depleted per use is a constant that varies between each weapon. The amount of charge lost is calculated after item use, meaning the damage penalty will only apply for the next attack.

Charge can be added to weapons via the Charging Station, by inputting the weapon into the top slot, and a Draedon Power Cell at the bottom slot. Each Draedon Power Cell increases the amount of charge by 1 unit and is created every 13.5 seconds at a player-placed Power Cell Factory.

The amount of charge depleted in one single use and the maximum charge for each weapon is as follows:
