Pets are creatures that follow the player around. They are completely invincible and have no set duration. When summoned, they will give the player a buff with the same name as the pet. A pet will follow the player until they die, summon a different pet, or cancel the associated buff. All pets are purely cosmetic. Pets do not count against the player's current minion limit.
Light Pets are summoned secondary characters that float alongside players to provide a traveling light source. They incur no mana nor any other cost, and remain indefinitely until the player cancels the buff, summons a replacement light pet or dies. Only one light pet can be present at once.

|Ocean Spirit||Strange Orb||The Shadow Chests in the Abyss.||Will only provide light if the player is submerged in liquid at least two tiles deep. Sleeps otherwise.|
|Yuu||Chromatic Orb||Dropped by Astrum Deus||Can be controlled manually using the movement keys. Grants the Hunter and Dangersense effects.|
- Light pets affect the light levels in the Abyss.
- Crimson Heart, Shadow Orb, Magic Lantern, Radiator, or Sparks pet: +1 to light level
- Fairy, Flickerwick, or Baby Ghost Bell pet: +2 to light level
- Wisp, Suspicious Looking Eye, or Ocean Spirit pet: +3 to light level
