The butterflies targeting a Super Dummy. Notice how the butterflies target the dummy through walls.
The Resurrection Butterfly is a craftable Hardmode summon weapon. Upon use with two or more minion slots, the Resurrection Butterfly summons a purple and pink butterfly. The purple butterfly will ram into enemies, while the pink butterfly will fire three petals towards enemies that only deal 50% of the summon's base damage. Although the staff summons two minions per use, each cast only uses one minion slot.
Its best modifier is Ruthless. The Mythical modifier provides the widest array of stat bonuses, but these primarily affect the initial summon rather than the resulting minion. Additionally, minions cannot deal critical hits. The only lasting advantage a Mythical Resurrection Butterfly has over a Ruthless one is knockback.

Notes[]
- One pair of butterflies counts as one minion toward the maximum minion count, similar to the Optic Staff.
- The two butterflies do 135% damage to Duke Fishron, and only 75% damage to the Lunatic Cultist and Astrum Deus.
Trivia[]
- The name of the weapon, "Resurrection Butterfly", and the weapon's tooltip are references to a spell-card used by the character Saigyouji Yuyuko from the Touhou Project series.
- The buff icon is a reference to the Saigyou Ayakashi, a giant cherry blossom tree, while the tooltip references Hakurei Reimu from the same series.
